A few months ago my husband taught me how to use the lathe and I made the burgundy pen. My husband gave me the blue pen, which he also made on the lathe.
It was so fun and easy! You can get the blanks from Rockler and the fun begins! The two that I have are actually made from plastic, which is a little easier to start with because there is really no prep involved. Just put the blanks on the lathe and begin!
These are definitely my favorite pens!
Wow! I am impressed! I can't believe you and hubby made those! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that could even be done! I would love to see some photos of the process and some type of tutorial!

I echo the sentiments of the commenters above: WOW! Beautiful work! I've never used a lathe, and have been intimidated to even start. Your pens are exquisite and professional-looking. I agree with Amy, I'd love to see a tutorial! So happy I came by from the DIY Club page and became your newest follower! Best, Jenn
ReplyDeleteGreat Job!! They really turned out nice.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pens....I know I've heard of these but have never tried it.
Might be time to brush off the lathe and give it a try.
