Mudroom Bench - This Old House

I was skimming through a This Old House magazine and found instructions to a storage bench.  The link to these instructions is above.  I love this idea.  In our house we have a pretty good size "mudroom" however, the washer and dry are also in there.  Instead of being a mudroom, I would like it to be a clean room!  This bench seems perfect.  It has a nice big storage space for shoes, gloves, hats, anything that you may need to go out side.  Then there is a  nice place to hang your jackets.

Pre-built storage benches are available; however, if you have the skills, it would be so nice to build one you can customize to fit perfectly in the space you have.
